Raków Częstochowa won in Malta against Valletta FC 4:0, and in the two-legged match 7:1. In the first match in Sweden, there was a 1:1 draw. The question of advancement was therefore open. The return match was much better for the guests, who took the lead after two minutes. Paulos Abraham scored for the Belgians. The response from the hosts had to wait until the 48th minute. Then, the Ukrainian striker Danyło Sikan equalized. When it seemed that everything was heading for a draw, the hosts dealt the decisive blow. Thanks to the reserve Mihajlo Cvetković, they took the lead, which they did not give up until the end of the match. Moreover, the result on 3:1 was increased by the next substitute Tristan Degreef.

Why is this important for Raków Częstochowa?

This is the first match of Raków with any Swedish team in history. Hammarby is a very lucky club for Polish teams in European cups. In the 2020/21 season, Lech Poznań won against Hammarby with 3:0 goals by Pedro Tiby, Jakub Kamiński and Filip Marchwiński. In the 1987/88 season, they lost to Pogonia Szczecin in the Intertoto Cup (2:3, 0:3).
