Raków Częstochowa close to signing Emirhan Basyigit
Raków Częstochowa is on the verge of signing a new defender. According to Weszło.com, Emirhan Basyigit from Turkish side Sivasspor is set to join the club. This transfer could be the seventh summer reinforcement for the „Medaliki”.
What do we know about the player?
Basyigit was already on Raków’s radar during the winter transfer window. The 21-year-old defender played 26 matches in the Turkish second division last season, scoring three goals. His contract runs until June 30, 2028. Transfermarkt values him at €800,000.
Why does Raków need a new defender?
The club bid farewell to Ariel Mosór, Zoran Arsenić, and Paweł Dawidowicz. While Raków has not yet signed a new central defender, they are working on strengthening this position. Last season, they finished 4th in the Ekstraklasa with 55 points (16W-7D-11L), conceding 40 goals while scoring 51. They are currently 5 points behind league leaders Lech Poznań.
