Raków Częstochowa are facing a major squad change. The Jasna Góra side may lose Jonatan Braut Brunes to Sparta Prague. The Norwegian striker has been a transfer target for months, with the Czech club’s latest bid set at €5 million.
What happened with Brunes?
Since early July, Sparta Prague has tabled a €5 million offer for the 25-year-old. According to Michal Kvasnica, the journalist tracking the case, the bid remains active. Raków won’t sell cheaply – the team from Częstochowa is eyeing a sum that will fund a solid replacement. Last season Brunes bagged 10 goals and 5 assists in 36 games, making him one of the league’s deadliest strikers.
Who could replace Brunes?
If Brunes leaves, Raków already has a potential successor. Tomasz Włodarczyk of Meczyki.pl reports the club is looking at Lasse Nordas, a 24-year-old striker at Luton Town. The English side is ready to loan the Norwegian with a buy option. Nordas spent the spring on loan at SC Heerenveen, where he scored 10 in 36 matches last season. His move from Tromsø IL to Luton Town cost €3.6 million early last year.
Why it matters for Raków Częstochowa
Losing Brunes would hit hard for Marek Papszun’s side. The striker has been a key piece up top, and his departure would force a quick replacement. Nordas, though younger, has proven output in the Championship and Eredivisie. Bringing him in could offset Brunes’s loss, especially as Raków fights to stay in the title hunt.
Raków Częstochowa sit 4th in Ekstraklasa with 55 points from 34 games, five adrift of leaders Lech Poznań. The team has won its last four matches, showing strong momentum ahead of the next run. Their most recent outing, a 3-0 win over Arka Gdynia on 23 May 2026, underlines the side’s current form.
