Raków Częstochowa has sacked its head coach following a disastrous start to the PKO Ekstraklasa season, in which the club has failed to earn a single point. The decision came after a high-profile defeat in Białystok that deepened the crisis at the team, which currently sits bottom of the table in 18th place with a record of 0 wins, 0 draws, and 4 losses.
The news of the coach's dismissal, after only a few months in charge, was announced by the club. Raków is now without a manager and must quickly find a successor while trying to stop a crisis that has taken on alarming proportions early in the campaign. The club has scored only 5 goals while conceding 11, resulting in a -6 goal difference.
Who could be Raków Częstochowa's new coach?
Several names have been mentioned as potential candidates for the vacant position. Individuals such as Tomasz Włodarczyk, Goncalo Feio, Dawid Szwarga, and Pavol Stano have been listed. The club must make a swift decision to prepare for upcoming challenges, including a difficult away fixture against league leaders Legia Warszawa scheduled for November 7, 2026.
Finding a new coach is only one piece of the puzzle, however. Raków also has to cope with the absence of Erick Otieno, who is currently sidelined. The current squad status can be tracked on our squad page.
Is Raków's problem deeper than the coach?
Journalist Roman Kołtoń suggested that Raków Częstochowa's troubles may have a broader, systemic nature. "It's the same sauce all the time. There is some error in the system," Kołtoń said.
In his view, merely changing the person on the bench might not be enough to reverse the negative trend. The club currently trails table-toppers Legia Warszawa by 12 points, illustrating the scale of the problems at the start of the competition. Full league statistics are available on our standings page.
What kind of coach does Raków need now?
Roman Kołtoń expressed the opinion that the club should seek a manager who would bring a completely new energy and concept to the team. "Today I would look for a completely different coaching dimension, a different way of playing," the journalist added.
This suggestion indicates that a change is needed not only in personnel but also in philosophy. The club, which is on a four-match losing streak (LLLL), must find a way to break the bad run and rebuild confidence. Details of upcoming fixtures, including the key clash with Legia, can be found in our fixtures schedule.
The task for the new coach will be extremely difficult. They must not only improve sporting results but also repair the morale in a squad mired in crisis. A direct confrontation with the league's best team awaits Raków on November 7.
