Lamine Diaby-Fadiga was the hero as Raków Częstochowa secured a vital 2-1 away win over Wieczysta Kraków on Friday night. The victory ended a damaging run of three consecutive league defeats for the team from Częstochowa, improving their recent form to two wins and three losses from their last five matches.

The match at the Synerise Arena was tense and closely fought. The hosts took the lead in the 69th minute through Lisandro Semedo, assisted by Efthymios Koulouris. Raków's response came from the bench. Substitute Diaby-Fadiga leveled the score from the penalty spot in the 79th minute after a VAR-reviewed handball by Koulouris.

The decisive moment arrived just two minutes from time. Patryk Makuch, the team's top scorer this season with six goals, provided the assist for Diaby-Fadiga to slot home the winner past goalkeeper Mateusz Kochalski. This was only Raków's second win of the 2026 campaign, a season in which they have scored 13 goals but conceded 25.

How the match unfolded

Manager Kaczmarek set his side up in a 4-4-1-1 formation. Raków created the better chances, registering 23 shots with 13 on target, forcing Kochalski into eleven saves. Oskar Repka hit the post for the visitors, while Wieczysta's Tobias Christensen struck the woodwork just before halftime. The visitors committed ten fouls, with Stratos Svarnas and Bogdan Racovițan booked.

What the win means for the table
