Patryk Makuch was the hero of Raków Częstochowa's first match under their new manager. His two goals secured a 2:1 victory over Motor Lublin on Saturday, September 11th, marking the debut of head coach Tomasz Kaczmarek.
Tomasz Kaczmarek took charge of Raków following the dismissal of Dawid Kroczek. He joined the club from Radomiak Radom, who had to pay a release clause in his contract to help the move. Prior to this match, the team was temporarily led by Dawid Szulczka.
Motor Lublin took the lead in the 34th minute through a powerful long-range strike from Kamil Łukoszek. "The shot from the midfielder on loan from Górnik Zabrze was strong and accurate. The visiting goalkeeper couldn't handle it," Łukoszek said after the match. Raków managed to equalize before halftime. In the 42nd minute, Marko Bulat passed to Patryk Makuch, who scored from outside the box to make it 1:1.
Makuch scored the winner for Raków in the 77th minute, assisted by Vladyslav Kochergin. His second goal of the game secured the first league points of the season for the Częstochowa side.
The win over Motor Lublin marks Raków's first points in this Ekstraklasa season. Before this match, the team was bottom of the table in 18th place with zero points from six games. They now have one win, four losses, and one draw. Up next, Raków faces second-placed Legia Warszawa, which will be another major test.
