Raków Częstochowa's defensive midfielder Abraham Ojo is being considered as a transfer option by Ekstraklasa side Radomiak Radom. The news was reported this week by the Polish outlet Weszło, which states that the Radom-based club is actively seeking reinforcement for the holding midfield role.

Radomiak aims to add a player who will raise the defensive quality and bring intensity to the team. Currently, manager Wojciech Stawowy uses Ibrahima Camara and Christos Donis in the 'number six' position. Camara started the season in the lineup, but Donis has since won his place. The club is looking for a third option, but only one who would significantly strengthen the squad's depth.

The future of the Nigerian at Raków is uncertain. He joined the Częstochowa club with significant potential but has struggled to show it. In the spring round of the 2025/26 season, he played just fifteen minutes, and his total playing time in the current campaign is just over twenty minutes. Raków is considering a loan move for the 23-year-old, though the recent managerial change to Dawid Szwarga could still offer the player a fresh chance. A decision is expected before the summer transfer window closes.

According to data from our squad page, Ojo is under contract with Raków until June 30, 2027. His current market value, as per Transfermarkt, is around 300 thousand euros. In Szwarga's team, he competes for minutes with players like Vladyslav Kochergin, Giannis Papanikolaou, and Ben Lederman.

Radomiak is not focusing solely on Ojo. Weszło notes that the club is also checking other available options on the market. Sporting director Szymon Janczyk has the task of finding a suitable player who meets the coach's requirements. After four matchdays of the 2026/27 Ekstraklasa season, Radomiak sits in 10th place in the standings with four points.

The search for a defensive midfielder is key to the team's further plans. Last season, Radomiak finished 13th, securing their top-flight status on the final day. The goal now is mid-table stability, and a new signing is meant to help achieve that.

For Raków Częstochowa, the decision regarding Ojo will be part of broader squad planning. The club finished the 2025/26 season in a strong second place, earning the Polish vice-champion title. Currently, after four rounds of the new season, Raków is in 5th position with seven points. They drew 1-1 with Legia Warsaw in their last match.

The team's squad is well-balanced, with strong competition in midfield. Besides the previously mentioned players, experienced Mateusz Wdowiak also plays an important role. Abraham Ojo has played a total of 14 matches for Raków across all competitions, without scoring a goal. His last appearance came in late August when he came off the bench in a Polish Cup match. The team's next test is scheduled for September 14, when Raków faces Górnik Zabrze.
