Raków Częstochowa has announced a reshuffle of its first-team coaching staff, confirming three departures and one new arrival. The club, which sits 18th in the Ekstraklasa table with just three points from nine games, is making the changes during a difficult start to the season. Raków has scored only 8 goals while conceding 23, giving them the worst goal difference in the league at minus 15.
The club stated that assistant coaches Kacper Jędrychowski and Tomasz Jasik, along with analyst coach Filip Zaranek, are leaving the coaching setup. Their place will be taken by Serdal Güvenç, a 42-year-old Belgian of Turkish descent, who joins as a new assistant coach.
Kacper Jędrychowski had been with the club since June 2022, working alongside head coach Marek Papszun. He was part of the staff that won the Polish championship and Super Cup, twice reached the Polish Cup final, and participated in the historic run to the Europa League group stage and the UEFA Conference League round of 16.
Tomasz Jasik joined Raków at the start of preparations for the current 2026/2027 season, while Filip Zaranek worked from June 2025, a period during which the team reached the domestic cup final and the Conference League last 16. The club thanked all three for their contributions.
The new assistant, Serdal Güvenç, born on 20 May 1984 in Maaseik, began his coaching career in 2022 at Sint-Truidense VV. Prior to moving to Częstochowa, he worked as an assistant at Dutch side NAC Breda alongside Tomasz Kaczmark. The staff changes follow a run of poor results, including a recent 3-2 loss to Korona Kielce, which was the team's fourth defeat in its last five league matches.
Club owner Michał Świerczewski and president Wojciech Cygan will meet with fans on 24 September at 7:00 PM at Limanowskiego 83. The meeting is intended to allow discussion about the team's current sporting situation. Raków returns to action after the international break on 9 October, hosting GKS Katowice, who currently sit 9th in the table. The last meeting between the sides ended in a 1-1 draw.
