Raków Częstochowa face another tough test in their bid to improve form with an away match against Korona Kielce. Coach Dawid Szwarga's team is on a poor run, losing four of their last five league games, which leaves them bottom of the Ekstraklasa table with just three points.
The past few weeks have been exceptionally difficult for the Częstochowa side. After a 2-1 win over Motor Lublin on September 11th came four consecutive defeats. The most recent was a 2-3 home loss to Zagłębie Lubin last Sunday. This season, Raków has scored 10 goals but conceded 18, resulting in a -8 goal difference. The main offensive threat remains Patryk Makuch, who has five goals in eight appearances.
Against Lubin, coach Szwarga set up his team in a 3-5-2 formation. K. Trelowski was in goal, with F. Tudor, B. Racovițan and S. Svarnas in defence. The midfield consisted of Jean Carlos, O. Repka, V. Kochergin, M. Bulat and T. Pieńko, while P. Makuch and M. Emreli led the attack. Changes are possible after another disappointing performance.
The opponent, Korona Kielce, sits 9th in the table and won their last match 2-0 against Wisła Płock. The last meeting between these teams, played on May 8th, ended in a 2-0 victory for Raków. To repeat that success, Szwarga's men must significantly improve their defensive play. This season's squad status can be checked on our squad page, and the full schedule on fixtures. The match will be played on Saturday, September 19th, at the Exbud Arena in Kielce.
