Raków Częstochowa stayed bottom of the Ekstraklasa table after their seventh defeat of the season, which followed a controversial 2-2 draw with Zagłębie Lubin. The third-round PKO Ekstraklasa match finished 3-2 to the visitors after a 103rd-minute goal, but an earlier incident caused the real storm.

In the 70th minute, Michał Nalepa scored to make it 2-2 for Zagłębie. The ball twice made contact with a visiting player's arm before the cross. The referee, however, did not go to the pitchside monitor to review the situation. Commentator Adam Lyczmański expressed astonishment. “The ball bounces twice off the hand of the Zagłębie player.” Lyczmański asked. Raków's new coach, Tomasz Kaczmarek, called the whole situation controversial.

This point does not improve Raków's dire league position. The Częstochowa side sits 18th and last with just three points from nine games. The team's recent form reads LLWLL, meaning four defeats in their last five matches. On Saturday, Raków lost 3-2 at home to Korona Kielce, having previously drawn with Zagłębie. The entire season is a battle to escape the relegation zone, and they trail leaders Górnik Zabrze by a massive 19 points.

The next chance to improve comes with a home fixture against GKS Katowice scheduled for October 9th. Katowice currently sit in 9th place. Raków must find a way to tighten a defence that has conceded 21 goals and better utilise attacking opportunities, where Patryk Makuch leads the way with five strikes.
